I am sending this in concern of my grandchildren going to this school.
I just read this post made by a Tussey Moutain High School Student. If this is true, someone needs to take action. Things like this just cant be left go. That is how tragic things happen and then everyone is in shock and just cant understand how it happened. Lets not let this kind of thing happen in our school !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To whom it may concern, as you know we are a very small school district here at Tussey Mountain. Word gets around rather quickly. Whether it would be whats for lunch, or what happened the class period before. I bring to your attention something that has been not only on my mind, but as well as some other students. We have a certain individual who threatened us saying ‘I’m going to kill everyone in this school, and myself’. Some of you might know that this person was not punished in any way, shape, or form for saying this statement. This individual was not punished in any way because he has a disorder we know as Autism. Why not, you might ask? I myself have been wondering the same thing. Despite numerous attempts before, by myself and others to see that some sort of action was taken up, no teacher, principal, or staff member wants to do a thing about it. So I have taken it upon myself to show you all how much the school district cares about these threats that are made. You might recall and event that occurred on December 14th, 2012, the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting in Newtown, Connecticut. 26 dead. Families left to mourn the deaths of their little children. The shooter was diagnosed with Aspergers. Closely linked to Autism. I’m just saying we might want to take action on this. Things like this cannot be left untouched. I’m sure it has made some students a little uneasy knowing threats like this were made. Our school simply does not worry about these matters I suppose. After the events that occurred in Newtown, something should be done. Please note that if you feel the need to screenshot, copy and paste, print this out, or do whatever with it, feel free to do so. If you feel the need to take it to a teacher, principal, or other staff member, please do. I can talk to them forever about this situation. I have expressed my opinion on this matter, not only for myself but all students at Tussey. Thank You, a concerned Tussey student.

After a fall on the ice last week, I visited my physician who told me I was going to need physical therapy. She told me I had options of where to go and left it up to me. I know the hospital has therapy but the hours aren’t the best for me. ProCare has been here a long time and know Chris Witt is the therapist there because I work out there. I pass Mile Level every day but recently noticed a new name, Drayer is located right next to Mile Level. I hadn’t heard of Drayer before and looked them up. They seemed very reputable but looking further on google I noticed Drayer was recently purchased by the investment firm of Goldman Sachs. This is the same Goldman Sachs investment company that in 2008 received a 12.9 billion dollar bailout in tax payer dollars then proceeded to pay huge bonuses to its employees and fire lower level employees. Anyone that feels similarly about Goldman Sachs should avoid using a healthcare company that espouses profits like Goldman Sachs as opposed to me the patient and my injury.

i just wanted to pass on some info to y’all so that you could inform your readers.
I have been getting phone calls from various numbers but it’s the same ppl, with a sales person telling me that I’m eligible for free alarm systems if I put a sign in their yard advertising their business. I’ve told them numerous times no and then the man asked me ‘well how do u protect your home?’ – when i told him it was none of his business he began cursing and threatening me. I reported it to the do not call list and the government fraud website. Then I did research. Their scam works 2 ways, they either con you into giving them your bank or credit card info “for a security deposit they won’t charge anything” and/or if you say your not interested they then target your home to rob it because they now know your home isn’t protected with a security system. What I understand, these con-artists travel from city to city. If you try calling the number back, half the time the number is out of service or it’s an auto system that hangs up on you – (A real legitimate business would not operate like this, which I told the one man who called and he promptly hung up on me.)
From what I read, they suggest telling the operator that you already have a security system, this should make your home less of a target.
I just wanted to try to inform as many ppl as possible about this. I don’t want anyone to get robbed or hurt from these scumbags.

I did not get the job. I went to a Bedford County Employment Agency in response to an ad for a dishwasher. I filled out all the forms, agreed to a background check and took necessary exams.
After Eight (8) hours of standing and washing pots, pans and dishes I was told two (2) days later the assignment had ended with no reason given…
I’m 70 year’s old, own a piece of property completely contaminated with environmental hazards but I must pay thousands of dollars in real estate and school taxes
only to have my name on the incorrectly certified court filed deed and lease. B—-S—-. I have no other rights of ownership. (Eminent Domain overrides ownership
as of July 2010).
I have two jobs already; First to stay alive to collect a retirement income; Second as a caregiver which is by scheduling only; Third was to be as a dishwasher;
Now, if I’m lucky beginning January 1, 2014 the Fourth will be as Tax Collector. (If I’m lucky in May and November).
Special note should be made of the fact that the Employment Agency asked questions to complete a credit form for them and perhaps the employer to receive
monies from the Taxpayer Funded Employment Fund. They receive these “Credits” with the exclusive use of my name and Social Security Number;
via Federal Government (aka Politicians) rules.
I am tripping out angry about this for many reasons; one it happened to me; two is happens to anyone; three this is unmerciful; four the future looks grim
for us all; five the Superpac Employer does not, I repeat does not have the “Man Up” ability to explain the reason for termination.
“I have a Dream” to survive and help the next generation understand and cope with the mess we are in and the mess they will inherit.

Here’s one you are going to LOVE . Before a school board member steps down from his position he made the statement that the board is going to try and sneak in a FOUR year contract for the A.D.. If this is passed it will cost you as tax payers $60,000. dollars alone for his salary , which does not include what he turns in for reimbursements . This A. D. has done nothing to help our sports programs. He works against against coaches and does not back themas he should . Talk about a conflict of interest as A.D. he referees track meets , basketball games and he’s even the game manager at these events , with extra pay .
Maybe like coaching jobs his job should also be open to search for the best candidate for the job , instead of making it his retirement cushion.
If you feel as I do there is a meeting April 15,2013 so before hand maybe you should pick up your phones and talk to a board member or go to the meeting at the TUSSEY MOUNTAIN High School at 6:00 p.m. After all it’s your tax dollars at work.
I’m writing in regards to a comment Mr.Higgins made during a drug bust. In his statement he made he used the word”junkies”.As a professional shouldn’t he have said “drug addict”? I agree that this county has seen more than its share of drug related crimes and problems. And as a recovering “junkie” myself who has worked very hard to stay sober,regain trust,and prove myself to be a( good citizen I find that remark very offensive. Not all addicts want to continue that life style.Not all addicts have no shame,embarrassment,regrets and no sense of right and wrong. Not all of us brag or feel proud of the things we have done to wrong innocent people,most of who we are close to and love deeply. As for me I’m thankful the law caught up to me when it did or I may not be alive today.However I know that calling me a “junkie” at my hearing or in a statement about me would not have had a positive impact on my recovery. It was the support of my family,the few positive N/A meetings this county has,and yes the “old” county jail guards that treated you like a human that made a deference on my attitude,my self-esteem,and my motivation and outlook on life that helped me realize I am worth something more than how I was portraying myself. And needless to say those gaurds are no longer there and I believe one of the reasons is just that. That they have a heart and went above n beyond their duty to listen and care amd give positive feedback to us “junkies” who needed to hear that even though we made mistakes its never to late to grow up,ask for forgiveness,and become a better person and try to help the next struggling addict! Addiction is a disease,at first it may be a choice but it no longer turns into a choice it becomes a sickness and yes there are some who are not ready to become better and do the right thing but what about us that are and have?????I just believe that Mr.Hig??gins using the term junkie shows prejudice as a professional he should have chosen a better word.Then again who am I????? Ill tell ya who I am….I AM A RECOVERING “JUNKIE” AND ILL GUARANTEE THAT IF YOU DIDNT KNOW ME THEN, TODAY YOU’D NEVER HAVE GUESSED THATS WHO I WAS.

Well then I apologize for misinterpreting your statements to me. The information about Mr. Higgins that I brought up was public information so I dont feel as though that was an attack, just a general statement. I do agree with you that it has become difficult to trust anyone in this day and age but this was just a total shocker to me and I was outraged. I do believe that I would have felt the same way even if I didn’t know the person the statement was made about because again I just felt as though that was something that should have been kept to himself. Furthermore, would you not agree with me that the statement, if it had to be made at all, should not have been made in front of an entire room of people?? Perhaps a little more discretion should have been used. I don’t want to sit here and keep debating this issue with you because we could go back and forth with this all day and I do thank you for your time and effort into this site as I frequent it on a daily basis. I just thought that perhaps I could have more input from the community on this, or at least anyone else who has had trouble with him on ANY level. I was actually surprised the amounts of comments I received on FB about various incidents with him and the way that they have been treated by him in the past.

I’m not trying to hide anything at all. I thought, perhaps I was mistaken, that court of any kind is a professional setting. There is a judge there, various attornies and yes of course, the criminals there. So are you now telling me that a judge or an attorney is not a professional?? Hmmm, really wish i would have thought of that. This was not a personal attack on you or this site and I’m having a hard time understanding why you decided to attack me just because I won’t give you someone’s name to blast all over the place. I’m also not understanding why it is SO important for the name of this individual to be announced when the nature of this discussion was clearly just a question about whether or not it is appropriate for a District Attorney to slander someone’s name such as he did. If you read back in further posts you will see that I clearly stated that EVERYONE is entitled to an opinion of another but that I found it unprofessional for it to be stated in a setting of such. In my opinion, the defendants’ name is irrelevant in this letter. The points have been stated without naming anyone in order to avoid further embarrassment. Perhaps you don’t see the relevancy in my question of him cheating on his wife but in MY opinion, he has no right to call anyone an idiot when his actions were clearly idiotic as well. Everyone makes mistakes and everyone has the right to be forgiven for what they have done as there is no judge other than God. My point of all this ranting is the idea that he PUBLICLY called someone out of their name in a professional setting and that is definitely not how someone of his supposed stature should be conducting themselves.

Mr. Editor, the incident that im speaking of happened at Central Court in Everett on December 19th at approx. 1030 am. This was all stated in front of the ENTIRE roomful of people in the Victim/Witness room. Mr. Higgins also stated that “the only thing the defendant hasn’t done is rape or murder” which is NOT true. I have known this man for lots of years and i know his criminal history and believe me when i tell you that he has a past but not to the extreme that Mr. Higgins implied. I have known this man to make sure that elderly that lived in his building were fed everyday, had a homeless man that he fed everyday, took care of a person with seizures for approx. 3 yrs and assisted me, being a severe diabetic for approx. 2 yrs and if Mr. Higgins thought he knew the defendant so well, why wasn’t any of this stated?? The victim even told Mr. Higgins that the sentence was a bit extreme to which Mr. Higgins replied “if you all think this man is such a hero, you can all leave here now and go home and cry about it”. Now, this man, Mr. Higgins has been in bar fights and got caught cheating on his wife publicly so I am now wondering how he is even still allowed to hold the title that he does. I understand he is voted in by the people but I’m also wondering do those same people know how this man really is???

I would like to pose a question to all the readers on here. Why is it that DA Bill Higgins is allowed to make PERSONAL comments about a defendant or their case in a room full of people who dont even have anything to do with the case?? I personally witnessed Mr. Higgins walk into a room this morning to notify a “victim” what was going to happen with their case and specifically called the defendant “an idiot” in front of EVERYONE in that room. The defendants sister was sitting there listening to everything Mr. Higgins was saying about the defendant as was I and after hearing that I finally stood right up and told him, out loud, how unprofessional that comment was and his response to me was “Really?”. Well, yes Mr. Higgins, REALLY. I do believe that EVERYONE has a right to their own opinion of another but to express that opinion in a professional setting, in front of people who don’t even know the defendant or anything about the case is unacceptable. No matter the reason the defendant was there, it was NOT Mr. Higgins’ right to publicly name call this person. All this coming from a man who was publicly caught having an affair….now I ask this…Who is the idiot here?

In regards to all the judge ling money mishandeling, totally believe he’d go there. Someone should look into his past cases where the ‘judge’ acted soo professional toward the parties involved. There are transcripts of how his attitude was, apparently something was bothering him. If he goes down on this money thing and can no longer be a judge for Bedford County – good!
