MMMMM, Torrence on June 15, you pretty much made the same comment as me. I was just wondering if there was a mix up in the copying. No problem. Cause I wrote way back in February, and here it is June , and as said previously the sidewalks in front of Marteens as well as a few other areas are still in need of REPAIR.
I believe I heard on the video that the cross walks as well as the cut outs that are for the handicap were looking pretty good throughout all this snow, but I think this meeting was prior to the big snowfall last received. I am sure everyone is trying their best with all we had. I just wanted to mention to those who did not have time to listen to the total meeting, that I beleive and if I am incorrect please say. That the cut out sections of the sidewalk were going to be the responsiblity of the homeowener that is connected to the side walk of which the cutouts are. And that it would be brought to the attention of the homeowners as well as the business that they should do this when needed. Also the info of how the snow is to be removed by the business owners on main street to help keep us all safe. That the owner will be responsible to put the extra snow that is on their property, like around the meters and planters onto the main street at certain times and it would be scheduled for Jason Foor Excavating to hall it away. For he is the person who had contracted with the board to keep it clean.Sounds good for me, and I am sure Many who have gone to town in the past will appreciate seeing this take effect, cause when we do shop in our town of Everett it is sometimes very dangerous to just get out of the car with the build up on the parking spots, that all year long we are to be putting money in the meter for. I just would like to add that it is sad to see the one man I have noticed on occasions who is in a wheel chair just trying to get from the red light headed past Marteen’s Restaurant. That is so uneven. who would be responsible for the repair of the concrete that is all broken or lifted making it unsafe. Not just there but in a varitey of different stores up and down Main street?
+1
Concerning Don and Jay doing separate goals at once, I have got to disagree. Yes, it would expedite things, but how unsafe! What would happen if Don rolled a mower and got pinned while Jay was on the other side of town hauling garbage? Who would be there to help him!? Having 2 or more people working together or close to one another creates safety–taking that away is stripping away their security.
Not to be unagreeable but actually the property owner is responsible for repair/replacement of sidewalks in front of their property on main street or anywhere within the borough. The only way I know this is because I have replaced several sidewalks.

I would like to thank and commend Brenda and Kari for being advocates for the handicap. These girls are extraordinary. I cannot think of a more thoughtful way of them to express their concerns. Instead of them being the problem they offer to help to eliminate the problem. We indeed need more young citizens to look up to. I indeed hope that the borough council listens to their concerns and takes into consideration to resolve this dilemma. Let’s not just push the blame from one to another but actually come up with something feasible to help all the citizens of the
” little town that could” . To all concerned my hope is there is a resolution that can be expedited readily.

the borough of everett would be responsible for repairs that need to be done in the borough
and you are correct about the handicap ramps coming from the sidewalks to the road
