Maybe the Camera Man could post the ad that the crazy lady was screaming about. i am interested in finding out what people were saying was offensive!
I could watch and listen to her all day. She bullies, screams, interupts……yet she is the victim of something?? I doubt someone could get enough words in to be mean at her.
She is my new favorite! And I look forward to her commissionership!
I am going to play Devil’s Advocate on the IDEA of having a “Flop the Block” event here in Bedford this Summer:
1st off, the sidewalks are going to be a MESS, that is a fact. When they will be finished is anybody’s guess, though a start date is in TENTATIVELY.
2nd, this guy (didn’t catch his name) has some good ideas, but needs to be more concrete in his proposals before he goes to Julie Dull to pitch this Event to her ( I hope he’s lurking here to read the comments). Perhaps he can rework the event for the month of August(?). Just a thought to throw out there…
3rd, don’t think you’re going to strong-arm the borough council when you “threaten” to take the event elsewhere, bad idea. Bill Leibfreid doesn’t cave to people trying to hold ultimatiums over his head. Just a heads-up on that. Besides, nobody is going to want to go “somewhere else” to “flop the block”. The point of the event is to come back HERE, get it?
4th, if you are planning to host a car show, it needs to all be in ONE PLACE, not scattered around a couple of areas. People are not going to want to find parking for one area to walk around, then get back in their car and drive to another area. A place needs to be found in town so people can walk around the square, patronize the businesses along the streets, food concessions, crafts and other things.
Trying to charge $ for people attending isn’t going to fly. You can’t charge people for wanting to walk around. You’d be better off setting up a booth for donations to keep the event going, booths for t-shirts and memorabilia, etc. to get money to help cover the costs of holding this event, especially if your goal is doing this year after year.
To say people are going to stop lapping the block at 9:30 isn’t going to work either. They will go around the block until THEY are ready to stop, you’ll have no control over that. The only people that CAN control that would be the Boro Police, citing people for whatever the violation would be considered under.
I do hope it works out for you, you seem to have all the right ideas and enthusiasm for this project, just remember to be somewhat more realistic in how it’s going to turn out.
Remember the Fireman’s Convention in Bedford back 20+ years ago…
excuse me but i was not judging you. i was making a comment and i am sure you have a very tough job cutting hair. bottom line is if you want the snow cleared any faster you will do it yourself
Mr. Cameraman, For your information I have had my snow moved my self for 35 years. cry babies up town did not even clean sidewalks off. OUR CLIENTS age are 2 to90. I am sure you dont understand how I take good care of my clients . WALK A MILE IN MY SHOES BEFORE YOU MAKE JUDGEMENT
WOW!!!! Was that guy serious? Sturgis !!! Great way to introduce yourself as wanting to be FAMILY ORIENTED !!! Does he really think they will be a company up and running as a non profit in 5 months …… better send them to the players club. Watch out people this could be another rip off artist. Come on they will never get this done in 5 months. They haven’t even become an entity yet. Sounds like he was all hot air and clueless. Glad to see you guys sent him to DBI. Juli will let him know how it is for sure. That guy was an absolute joke to think he could get this up and running in 5 months. So let him take it somewhere else he will still run into the same problem because it is impossible to do want he wants to do in that magnitude in 5 months.
ok are you kidding me, first off the owner of the ” new hair line ” it snowed over 20 inches of snow and your crying because the snow was not moved fast enough for you and you also have private parking for your business, you need to get a grip on things, if you want the snow moved any faster i guess you should do it yourself,
and mr. let’s flop the block, this is a complete joke, this guy want to bring his own drunkin security and 5,000 morons who want to tie up town so they can flop the block like they did 30 years ago, and how many times did he tell the council he would take his freak show to some other town ? and did he compare a bunch of morons flopping the block to stugis?, if i did not no better i would say this guy lives in google land, the first time he would have told me he would take his show to another town i would have told him
” TELL YOUR STORY WALKING “
#7 by Bedford County Free Press on February 15, 2010 - 3:55 am
It was mentioned in post that Bedford and Everett Borough Council meeting were on the same night.
Does that happen very often? Do they always have the same date each month?
I’M NOT SURE WHETHER YOU ARE FIRST IN ANYTHING. BUT I’LL BET YOU ARE FIRST IN THE NAME DICTIONARY, UNLESS THERE’S AN “AABY” SOMEWHERE.
YOUR POINT IS WELL TAKEN EVEN THOUGH IT MIGHT BE POINTLESS TO MY POINT TO A NON COMMENT . WHAT I’M TRYING TO SAY IS WHAT’S THE POINT OF POINTING OUT A COMMENT THAT IN FACT COULD WELL BE A POINTED NON COMMENT “. KNOW WHAT I’M SAYEN ?
I don’t quite get the point to your comment. Unless you listened to the segment of the meeting that prompted my response then you would not get the point to my comment. But that is okay, no need to explain further .
Dear Abby ( am I actually saying this ?)
If parking by the courthouse is your only problem, I can make you problem-free. You can park to your heart’s delight all day on Juliana Street, in front of the historic cemetary and across in front of the old primary school, or on Simpson St or behind the courthouse on Thomas street and also many spots on Penn St. west of the courthouse. Of course these legal spots would cause a 5 or 10 minute walk to the courthouse. But I doubt if any heart attacks have been caused by this strenuous exercise. However if you insist on no more than a minutes trek to the courthous steps , here is how you can survive the ordeal. Get to know the D.A.’s staffs private autos. They park in violation in front of , or on the side of the courthouse all day. By doing this they “handcuff” the boro p.d.from citing any civilian who is also in violation. Just make sure you park within sight of the privilidged few. You know the old saw, if they ( the da,s office) can park in violation. why not me ?
I just have one other comment and I hope that I can get an answer. I heard Dean mentions something about parking during jury selection and I am not sure that he thought that it a very big deal.
I can give some light on that if indeed that was the subject. It is a very big deal. Jury selection when done is an all day event and if you have business at the courthouse. You may as well come back the next day. Our court system is very busy. keeping in mind we have 2 courtrooms in that same building. Most days they both have very busy dockets. You can check it out on the court schedule page on this sight.
County workers even find it difficult to find a parking place is the dockets are full and then on top of that a jury selection being done. So even as big as the parking garage is it still is not big enough. EX. If you need to be to work on any busy day at the courthouse say at 8:30, you best be there by 7-7:15 or you are out of luck. So to say this is not a problem gentleman it definitely is. So this is my 2 cents and you may need to put a committee together to do a study. I would volunteer for that one !

My only question is I see new faces sitting on the council. Were they ever introduced? I am sure that I missed that one but can someone enlighten me to as who the new members are and who is now the president of the council?
there’s what appears to be a bright new red fire hydrant on your left, as you pass the bridge entering meadowbrook. as far as i know it’s the only one in the meadowbrook developement. what i would like to know is the following
1. is it a real fire hydrant or just a decoration ?
2. was it planted or did it just grow there ?
3. can any dog (animal of course) relieve itself there ?
4. can autos park in front of it.
5. will there be more planted in the area ?
6. if not, does the local f.d. have 1,000 yard hoses to
reach all homes. that’s of course if they’re in flame ?
7. will all residents of meadowbrook receive a discount
in their fire insurance ?
8. will residents of meadowbrook have the option to buy
or lease these possible life saving devices.
9. is there a choice of colors.
