HOPEWELL MAN SHOOTS AT TWP WORKERS AFTER USING METH

54 YEAR OLD MICHAEL HEISTER OF HOPEWELL IS IN THE BEDFORD COUNTY JAIL CHARGED WITH 4 COUNTS OF TERRORISTIC THREATS, 4 COUNTY OF RECKLESSLY ENDANGERING ANOTHER PERSON, 4 COUNTS OF SIMPLE ASSAULT, 4 COUNTS OF HARASSMENT, POSSESSION OF A FIREARM WHILE PROHIBITED FROM POSSESSING ONE. AND TWO COUNTS OF PA STATUTE 35: POSSESSING A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE WITHOUT A VALID PRESCRIPTIONACCORDING TO THE POLICE COMPLAINT, HEISTER SHOT AT A GROUP OF TOWNSHIP WORKERS IN THE AREA OF PIPER HILL ROAD IN HOPEWELL TWP. HEISTER TOLD POLICE HE HAD BEEN HEARING VOICES AND THAT HE RECENTLY USED METH, HE TOLD POLICE HE FIRED AT A TREE IN THE DIRECTION OF THE VOICES. THE TREE WAS IN THE EXACT DIRECTION OF THE TWP WORKERS. HEISTER WAS IN POSSESSION OF A METAL TUBE CONTAINING GENERIC SUBOXONE PILLS, WHICH HEISTER TOLD POLICE HE DID NOT HAVE A PRECRIPTION FOR. A SMALL PLASTIC BAG OF SUSPECTED METH WAS ALSO FOUND IN HEISTER’S DRIVEWAY . IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT HEISTER HAS BEEN SUBJECTED TO AN INVOLUNTARY MENTAL HEALTH COMMITMENT ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS, MOST RECENTLY THIS MONTH ( AUGUST OF 2021 ) MAKING HIM A PERSON NOT TO POSSESS FIREARMS. HE WAS ARRAIGNED AND PLACED IN THE BEDFORD COUNTY JAIL ON 10% OF $50,000 BAIL.
