FIGHT AT THE SUPER 8 MOTEL ENDS WITH TWO JAILED

ON 09/21/2022, POLICE RESPONDED TO THE SUPER 8 MOTEL ON BUSINESS 220 IN BEDFORD TWP FOR A 911 HANG UP. POLICE SPOKE WITH 37 YEAR OLD DAVID LEE KNIGHT JR WHO WAS STAYING IN ROOM 212 AT THE MOTEL, KNIGHT TOLD POLICE HE INADVERTENTLY CALLED 911. AT THE SAME TIME, ANOTHER OFFICER WAS SPEAKING WITH 47 YEAR OLD JESSICA LYNN SNYDER, WHO WAS INSIDE OF THE MOTEL ROOM AS WELL.

DURING THE INTERVIEW, POLICE FOUND BLOOD ABOUT THE HOTEL ROOM, SNYDER TOLD POLICE SHE FELL ON HER WAY TO THE BATHROOM AND STRUCK HER NOSE ON THE CORNER OF THE WALL, WHICH CAUSED THE BLEEDING. KNIGHT TOLD THE OTHER OFFICER, THAT SNYDER FELL WHILE WALKING INTO THE MOTEL ROOM IN THE FOYER AREA. POLICE OBSERVED KNIGHT WITH A SWOLLEN RIGHT FIST.

BOTH SUSPECTS TOLD POLICE, THEY WERE NOT FIGHTING. POLICE CLEARED THE SCENE AND LEFT. A LITTLE OVER AN HOUR LATER, POLICE RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE MANAGER OF THE MOTEL, INFORMING POLICE THAT SNYDER & KNIGHT WERE FIGHTING OUTSIDE OF THE MOTEL. WHEN POLICE ARRIVED, KNIGHT TOLD POLICE, THAT SNYDER ASKED THE STAFF OF THE MOTEL FOR ICE, AND THAT SNYDER BECAME UPSET WHEN STAFF TOLD HER, THERE WAS NO ICE. POLICE REPORT THAT KNIGHT APPEARED EXTREMELY INTOXICATED AND REPEATEDLY STATED THAT HE AND SNYDER WERE DRUNK.

POLICE SPOKE WITH THE HOTEL MANGER WHO INFORMED POLICE, THAT SNYDER BECAME IRATE AFTER ASKING FOR ICE. AND THAT BOTH SNYDER AND KNIGHT CAUSED A DISTRUBANCE BY SCREAMING AT EACH OTHER. POLICE THEN ATTEMPTED TO PLACE KNIGHT UNDER ARREST FOR ASSAULTING SNYDER, WHEN KNIGHT BEGAN RESISTING ARREST. KNIGHT THEN HAD A SEIZURE, KNIGHT WAS TRANSPORTED BY EMS TO UPMC HOSPITAL, WHERE THE ER STAFF TOLD POLICE, KNIGHT HAD FAKED THE SEIZURE.

ANOTHER OFFICER ATTEMPTED TO PLACE SNYDER UNDER ARREST FOR DISORDERLY CONDUCT DUE TO HER SCREAMING AT THE HOTEL MANAGER WHILE POLICE WERE INTERVIEWING THE MANAGER, SNYDER ALSO RESISTED ARREST. POLICE ATTEMPTED TO PLACE SNYDER IN THE POLICE VEHICLE, AND SNYDER AGAIN, ATTEMPTED TO RESIST, SHE ATTEMPTED TO KICK OUT THE REAR PASSENGER WINDOW OF THE POLICE VEHICLE. , SHE THEN ATTEMPTED TO STOP POLICE FROM TAKING HER INTO THE POLICE STATION.

SNYDER WAS CHARGED WITH RESISTING ARREST, DISORDERLY CONDUCT, AND PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS, SHE WAS ARRAIGNED AND PLACED IN THE BEDFORD COUNTY JAIL ON $20,000 STRAIGHT BAIL.

KNIGHT WAS CHARGED WITH SIMPLE ASSAULT, RESISTING ARREST, DISORDERLY CONDUCT, AND PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS, HE WAS ARRAIGNED AND PLACED IN THE BEDFORD COUNTY JAIL ON $25,000 STRAIGHT BAIL
