Resignation from Franklin County Republican Committee to Endorse Art Halvorson for Congress

Monday, September 12, 2016
Four members of the Franklin County Republican Committee (FCRC) resigned today in order to openly endorse Art Halvorson for Congress in Pennsylvania’s 9th Congressional District against Congressman Bill Shuster. Both are Republicans but Bill Shuster edged out about 1,000 votes more in the Republican primary. However more than 1,000 Democrats wrote-in Art Halvorson’s name on the Democratic ballot and so he will be listed as the Democratic candidate in November’s general election.
Of the four resigning from this committee, three of them are also resigning from the Franklin County Young Republicans (FCYR). Also one of those resigning was the Vice Chairman of the FCRC and another one was the Vice Chairman of the FCYR, both at the time of resignation. All four names are noted below with offices.
