HYNDMAN MAN CHARGED WITH OVER 100 COUNTS INVOLVING ARSON

 

ON 06/27/2017 AROUND 2AM 56 YEAR OLD JERRY PAUL ADAMS, IGNITED A FIRE IN THE MEN’S POOL BATHROOM LOCATED IN THE NORTH-WEST BUILDING OF THE QUALITY INN HOTEL IN BEDFORD. THE ACCUSED USED A MEOW MIX CAT FOOD BAG,A ROAD ATLAS, WHITE UNDER ARMOR FLIP FLOPS, AN ORANGE SHIRT AND A LIGHTER TO IGNITE THE FIRE IN THE BATHROOM GARBAGE CAN. AFTER IGNITING THE FIRE THE ACCUSED THEN FLED IN A BLUE IN COLOR 1987 DODGE POWER RAM PICKUP TRUCK. THE BUILDING AFFECTED BY THE FIRE IS A DETACHED PORTION OF THE HOTEL WHICH CONTAINS ROOM 101-136. AT THE TIME OF THE FIRE THE BUILDING CONTAINED 29 ADULTS AND 5 CHILDREN. ONE EMPLOYEE OF THE HOTEL WAS ALSO AFFECTED WHEN ATTEMPTING TO NOTIFY THE GUEST OF THE FIRE.

ADAMS WAS CHARGED 35 COUNTS OF AGGRAVATED ARSON, 35 COUNTS OF ARSON ENDANGERING PERSONS, 1 COUNT OF ARSON ENDANGERING PERSONS, 1 COUNT OF CAUSING A CATASTROPHE, 1 COUNT OF ARSON AND RELATED OFFENSES, 1 COUNT OF ARSON AND RELATED OFFENSES, 1 COUNT OF ARSON AND RELATED CHARGES, 1 COUNT OF RISKING A CATASTROPHE, 35 COUNTS OF RECKLESSLY ENDANGERING ANOTHER PERSON, 1 COUNT OF CRIMINAL MISCHIEF, 1 COUNT OF CRIMINAL MISCHIEF, 1 COUNT OF DISORDERLY CONDUCT, AND 1 COUNT OF ARSON AND RELATED OFFENSES. BAIL WAS SET AT $1 MILLION

HE IS CURRENTLY IN THE BLAIR COUNTY PRISON, HE WAS PICKED UP IN BLAIR COUNTY ON A BENCH WARRANT OUT OF CUMBERLAND,MD FOR FAILING TO APPEAR AT A HEARING ON THE SAME DAY AS THE FIRE AT THE HOTEL. IN CUMBERLAND HE WAS CHARGED WITH BURGLARY, TRESPASSING, ASSAULT, RESISTING ARREST, AND POSSESSING DRUG PARAPHERNALIA STEMMING FROM AN INCIDENT ON 10/16/2016. HE IS ALSO SCHEDULED FOR JURY TRIAL ON JULY 12 CONCERNING YET ANOTHER CASE IN CUMBERLAND WHERE HE IS CHARGED WITH 3 COUNTS OF BURGLARY, AND MALICIOUS DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY STEMMING FROM AN INCIDENT ON 10/11/2016.
